Bill Goodwin is a Senior Vice President and core member of the firm’s advanced technology, information technology and professional services practices. Bill’s background includes over eight years in executive search, specializing in the recruitment of senior executives across a broad range of industries. With extensive experience working for large IT and business services clients, he has represented clients ranging from start-up companies, not-for-profit organizations, private equity firms, and Fortune 500 companies.
Bill has performed senior level searches for manufacturing companies, real estate development firms, financial services institutions, and not for profit organizations. His most extensive experience is in conducting searches in IT and professional services, including senior level engagements for clients such as SAS, Dell, Nielsen, Quintiles, Cadence, and Accenture. Bill has recruited CEO, Board and executive level management to his clients’ technology, management consulting and BPO outsourcing companies. In addition to CEO and general management projects, he has conducted significant searches in marketing, finance, sales, IT and R&D.
Prior to joining Leadership Capital Group, Bill was a Vice President and Managing Consultant at a London-based retained executive search firm, for which he opened and ran the North Carolina office. Previously, he ran Goodwin Search, an executive search and research firm. Bill began his search career in the Atlanta office of one of the industry’s two largest global retained executive search firms, where he was a Senior Associate focused on search in professional services and advanced technology. Before entering the executive search industry, Bill worked in the Washington, DC office of U.S. Senator John McCain.
Bill is a graduate of Wake Forest University and earned an MBA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Bill serves as a fundraising chair for the Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. He is actively involved in the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Eastern North Carolina, and the YMCA’s Community Hope programs. He was also the Founding Chairman of the young professional fundraising group at the Marcus Institute in Atlanta, GA.
